Abstract
The influence of hot band texture on the development of the cold rolling texture and the subsequent recrystallization texture in aluminium foils was studied by applying different finishing temperature during the hot rolling. The hot band texture of the surface was different to that of the middle layer. The strong {001}〈110〉 developed at the surface of the hot band manufactured from a high finishing temperature, whereas a well developed cold rolling texture formed by applying a low finishing temperature. During the cold rolling, grains oriented at an unstable orientation tend to rotate to the nearest stable orientation. This caused the effect of the starting texture on the cold rolling texture. The strong {4 4 11}〈11 11 8〉 and {123}〈634〉 and the weak {110}〈112〉 in the cold rolling texture led to a strong cube texture in the recrystallization texture.
