Abstract
The rheological behaviour of aqueous solutions of high molecular weight polymers with a concentration of the order of several percentages under uniaxial intense stretching has been studied experimentally and theoretically. Sharp acceleration of the relaxational processes was found for high elastic strains. An explanation of the effects observed is offered within the molecular theory of the rheological behaviour of polymeric solutions.
