    Abstract

Four kinds of EVA-OH (Ethylene-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol terpolymers) were prepared using the transesterification reaction between ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and alcohol in the laboratory. Structural and thermal analyses for EVA-OH were accomplished with FTIR and DSC. As the increase of conversion rate, melting point increased. Interfacial charge behaviors of XLPE/EVA-OH laminates were also measured using PEA method. It was found that the amount of interfacial charge of XLPE/EVA-OH laminates and the decay rate of interfacial charge changed as the conversion rate of vinyl acetate to hydroxyl group increased.
