Abstract

Assembling [W(CN)6(bpy)]- and magnetic anisotropic Mn Schiff bases produced two MnIII(3d)-WV(5d) bimetallic chains. Modulation of the types and degrees of interchain π-π interactions in the one-dimensional coordination polymers leads to the variation of the magnetic behavior from a metamagnetic character to a single-chain magnet property.
