Intra-industry wage differences over the business cycle

Abstract

Recent empirical studies find that the wage rate differences across industries are not so countercyclical as widely believed. We consider intra-industry wage differences which refer to wage differences across more narrowly defined industries and find stronger evidence of countercyclicality.
