Isolation of extracellular vesicles from small volume of sample by microfluidic aqueous two phase system

Abstract

Small volume handling of extracellular vesicle separation from plasma with high recovery efficiency is a major issue of point of care testing. This paper suggests a microfluidic aqueous two phase system for isolation of extracellular vesicles from small volume of body fluid samples. With our device, 83.43% of recovery efficiency with protein removal of 65.46% was achieved from less than 10 μL of sample. We expect that our device will provide more useful application in isolation of extracellular vesicles.
