Abstract

In this paper, we present a frequency-tunable filter with a 11:1 bandwidth tuning range. To obtain such a wide tuning range, we propose a new tuning technique that only necessitates control of inter-resonator coupling values. In this paper, we describe the theory supporting the proposed tuning technique using a third-order filter. Verification of the presented bandwidth tuning method has been carried out by designing, fabricating, and measuring a third-order Ku-band cavity filter.
