    Abstract

We demonstrated lasing at the band edges in optimized two-dimensional iron-nail-shape nanorod photonic crystals by optical pumping at room temperature. The size of the nanorod gradually increased toward the edge of the pattern in order to reduce the optical loss in horizontal direction.
