    Abstract

The anisotropy independent energy E0, the anisotropy constants K4 and K6 obtained from our previous work were applied to calculate various magnetic properties in the sample directions perpendicular to the sheet normal. The textures of Fe-3%Si steel sheets having ideal texture components were simulated by an assumption of the Gaussian orientation distribution around an ideal orientation. The samples having the prominent textures display a distinct easy direction parallel to <100> and hard directions parallel to <110> and <111>. Preferred orientations along the γ-fiber texture lead to a planar isotropic magnetic properties. Enhancement of the magnetic induction was obtained in the steel sheets consisting of either the Cube texture or the α-fiber orientations.
