Abstract

Off-stoichiometric cordierite glass-ceramics have lower viscosity and a slower crystal growth rate, resulting in good sintering ability. Off-stoichiometric cordierite glass-ceramics were fabricated that contain a few percentage points of B2O3, P2O5 and TiO2 as sintering aids and nucleation agents. The cordierite glass-ceramics showed lower sintering and crystallization temperatures, as well as high density and good mechanical properties.
