    Abstract

We describe a simple method for rapid and quantitative detection of hippuric acid (HA) by using PDMS-based microfluidic electrochemical immunosensor. The system employs a conjugate of ferrocene (Fc) and HA for the electrochemical detection. The competition between HA and the ferrocene-hippuric acid complex (Fc-Lys-HA) for HA antibody coated onto microbeads generates electrical signals proportional to HA concentration in the range of 0-40 mg/mL.
