    Abstract

This paper reports microfluidic chip based wet spinning of biodegradable polymers with simple mechanism, and study of cell orientation dependence with fiber size. Biodegradable polymer PLGA fiber was produced by microfluidic chip based spinning device. By controlling feed rate of core polymer and sheath coagulating solutions, we got various PLGA fiber diameter from 10 to 242 μm. L929 mouse fibroblast cells were cultured on the surface of the fibers and the result showed unique tendency of cell orientation on the fibers.
