    Abstract

Compared to the traditional heating and other wet chemical methods such as methods such as hydrothermal deposition, chemical bath deposition, electrodeposition, successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction, sol-gel, and spray pyrolysis deposition, microwave-assisted (MW) chemical synthesis method has a niche place in commercial industrial market for mass scale production. This chapter deals with synthesis of metal oxide nanostructures using MW method. Working principle of the MW method for synthesizing different nanostructures has been explored. We hope that this chapter will positively convey new insights for researchers working on the MW synthesis method for preparing various nanostructures for energy storage devices.
