Abstract
Since Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 (which will be abbreviated as Cs2.5PW12) showed extremely high activities for various acid catalytic reactions, catalytic characteristics of Cs-substituted heteropolyacids have been of great interest. The surface area and surface acidity are controlled by the amount of Cs substitution. The size of the micropores is not only nearly uniform but also can be controlled at the sub - nm level, which leads to shape selective catalysis. Furthermore, CsnPMo11V (n≥3) has recently been reported to show the characteristics of the base catalyst. Also, novel synthesis techniques have been developed to prepare a highly dispersed heteropoly catalysts, Cs-substituted tungstophosphoric acid/salts on mesoporous MCM-41 materials. In this talk, the details of the base catalytic properties and the novel grafting preparation technique will be presented and discussed.
