Non topotological vortices in a Bose-Einstein condensate

Abstract

An overview is given on a novel class of non topological vortices. The rich static and dynamical properties of these vortices are highlighted. It is shown that external drive can be coupled easily to a non topological vortex and be used to steer a vortex which sets internal spinor motions.
