Abstract
This paper focuses on the hybrid transient simulation technique implemented for the analysis of power systems that include several detailed systems through multi-ports. To be more specific, this paper proposes a variable interaction protocol scheme for a more accurate simulation of the several detailed systems. Generally, in order to increase the calculation efficiency in the hybrid transient simulation program, the detailed system is simulated using a time step which is smaller than that of the external system. When a single detailed system and external system exist, the simulation results obtained for a disturbance arising in the detailed system for this system that has exact equivalent of external system is almost same as the results for the whole system being modelled using electromagnetic transient program. Many papers have verified that for a system with a single detailed system and external system. However, when several detailed system exists, the disturbance occurring in a detailed system has the possibility of affecting the other detailed systems and this effect would cause dissimilarity in the simulation results. In this paper, the effect of the disturbance in a detailed system on other detailed systems is described. And It also proposes a variable interaction protocol scheme to increase the accuracy of the simulation by adjusting the time-step of the external system. In order for adequacy, the simulations are being carried out using PSCAD/EMTDC and MATLAB.
