Abstract
A novel ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) in the whole UWB passband of 3.1-10.6 GHz using a distorted uniplanar compact electromagnetic band-gap (DUC-EBG) unit cell is presented. This DUC-EBG unit cell is acted as a multiple-mode resonator (MMR). To model the DUC-EBG unit cell, an equivalent L-C circuit is used to analyze passband characteristics of the proposed filter. Its design is dealt within this letter and the one- and three-stage BPF are implemented.
