Abstract

The objective of this paper is to describe a new methodology which can select the pipes to be rehabilitated and/or replaced in an existing water distribution system and determine how much the pumping capacities should be increased so that the water demand and pressure requirements at all demand nodes are satisfied while the total cost is the minimum. Five cost functions are considered.
