    Abstract

The next-generation network (NGN) is a new concept commonly used by network designers to depict their vision of future networks. The NGN wireless networks are intended to support new real time application, which have to deal with tight time constraints in order to offer adequate quality of network services. As network bandwidth rates rise and more it is gained in speed. That is, the numbers of transmission packets are grown. Hence it has a bad effect that the number of packets forwarded from the previous AR (access router) to the new AR is increased during the handover procedure. A optimized fast handover may guarantee adequate continuity in the service offered to the user in real time application. The proposals intend to minimize the number of packets forwarded from the previous AR to the new AR during the handover procedure.
