Abstract

Photoluminescence characteristics of spherical LnPO4 phosphor particles under ultraviolet (UV) and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) illumination were investigated. The spray pyrolysis process was taken to prepare Tb-doped lanthanide phosphor particles. It was found that the energy transfer from Mn2+ to Tb3+ occurs in the LnPO4 matrix when the ultraviolet light is used as the excitation photons.
