Abstract

Several NEMO protocols are proposed to support network mobility in PMIPv6 networks but they ignores packet loss problem during handover. Seamless handover is very important to support real-time traffic in NEMO environment. We propose PMIP-based NEMO protocol with Efficient Buffering scheme to prevent packet loss. The Efficient Buffering scheme manages buffers with ARQ mechanism similar to Go-Back-N. The simulation result shows that the Efficient Buffering scheme forwards buffered packet to MN without duplicated packet as soon as the MN finishes a handover.
