Abstract
Employment and employment conditions are important determinants of population health. Recent changes in the labor markets of developed and developing countries have fundamentally transformed the experience of work and employment. In this article, we explore the implications of these shifts for the health and well-being of workers. Particular attention is awarded to the deregulation of labor markets and the consequent rise of nonstandard and precarious forms of employment.
