Prediction of environmental-friendly eco-architecture trend by neologism analysis

Abstract

This study aimed at predicting the future of the environmental-friendly eco-architecture based on the investigation about the newly-coined words reflecting issues relative to the environmental-friendly ecoarchitecture as well as to the general social phenomena. Common trends significantly considered in social and in the environmental-friendly eco-architecture were public interest (12.5%), duty/appropriateness/morality (8.7%), social problems (6.5%), consumer problems (8.7%), formal deviation (12.5%) and new technologies (21.7%). On the other hand, trends, which existed in the social phenomena but hardly not in the environmental-friendly eco-architecture, were the aging society, poverty, anonymity, population, improvisation, and joblessness, and their relativeness to the environmental-friendly eco-architecture were the issues needs to be seriously taken into account. The results of this study are as follows. At first, the people has interested in the environmentally appropriative accidents, which should be continued for the future at any reasons. Second, these neologism points out the fundamental human problems such as environmental pollutions, genetic mutation, energy exhaustion, and so on. Third, they accommodate the conceptual variation of the consumption as well as refused generality and required extraordinary. Lastly, it revealed that there was significant expectancy on the new technologies and their reflection to the environmental-friendly eco-architecture.
