Abstract
Here, we present a method to fabricate microbeads using extracellular matrix (ECM) components (type1 collagen). The fabricated ECM microbeads are size-controllable and suitable for culturing cells by coating them with various type of cells. Coated cells show various cell-ECM interaction. The morphological characteristics of cell coated ECM microbeads can be studied quantitatively. We expect ECM microbeads can be applicable for tissue engineering, but also quantitative analysis for cell-ECM interactions.
