Abstract
Mechanical and piezoelectrical properties of undrawn and drawn poly (vinylidene fluoride) films were studied. Effects of poling electric field and draw ratio on the mechanical and piezoelectrical behavior were investigated. The glass transition temperature determined by the dynamic experiment tends to increase slightly with the draw ratio. The β′ peaks of form I which appeared in drawn films were not affected by the changes in draw ratio and poling electric field. The maximum tanδe (by piezoelectrical) temperature below zero tends to increase with the poling electric field. As draw ratio and poling electric field increase, so does the piezoelectric stress constant. The temperature below zero of maximum tanδE (by mechanical) is higher than that of maximum tanδe.
