Abstract

Crystal clear: An end-on (EO) azide-bridged CoII layer (see scheme; 1) with coordinated water molecules, long spacer p-XBP4 ligands, and unbound azide anions was evacuated to generate a dehydrated sample of 2. A reversible crystal-to-amorphous structural transformation accompanied by color and magnetic changes takes place between 1 and 2 by using a desolvation- solvation protocol.
