    Abstract

In this paper, we propose the SINA(Superhighway Information Networking Architecture) as a model of the architecture for an information network in telecommunication network environment and present its prototype. The SINA provides the functions for interaction between the SMFAs(System Management Functional Areas) and operator and the functions for monitoring and collecting informations about VC(Virtual Channel) and VP(Virtual Path) of the physical managed objects as well as the functions for configuration, fault, performance, security, and accounting management. The prototype of the SINA uses TCP/IP in UNIX environment as a DCN(Data Communication Network). Each of the functional building blocks is interfaced with the DPE(Distributed Processing Environment) through CMISE(Common Management Information Service Element). Detailed structures and specifications of the SINA are currently being developed. Practically, we are now building the DPE.
