Abstract
Three functionalized nonlinear optical (NLO) polyimides are prepared through an alternate synthetic route in which an NLO chromophore is incorporated into a dianhydride monomer. The proposed synthetic route can avoid the troublesome diamine synthesis and also allows the versatility in selection of the chromophores to be incorporated into the polyimide backbone.
