Abstract

Fifteen gold-silver alloys with known composition have been synthesized. Intensity measurements of characteristic X-rays emitted from these alloys as well as from pure metals have been carried out. The correction procedures for matrix effects involve: (1) experimental calibration-curve method, (2) Bence and Albee's method, and, (3) Sweatman and Long's method (ZAF correction).
