Abstract

Since the average speed calculated with encoder pulses inevitably has time delay, it can degrade the control performance as well as the system stability, especially at low speed region. In this paper, the accurate speed estimation method using Kalman Filter Algorithm is presented to improve the performance of an Induction Motor with a low precision shaft encoder at low speed region.
