Abstract
Stretching-out hollow glass fibers (microcapillars) is studied theoretically and experimentally. Analytical solution of quasi-two-dimensional equations of motion and heat spread is obtained. Comparison of this solution with experimental data for external diameter of the stretched-out fiber produced positive results. Approximation of the transition zone by glass microcapillar stretching-out is proposed. Influence of certain material characteristics on the approximated length of the transition area by different maximum temperatures of the stretched-out material.
