    Abstract

In fuel cell systems, heat exchangers are important components for improving efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain a robust heat exchanger structure for high duty cycles. In this case, the heat exchanger is comprised of multilayer tube bundles. Seamless tubing has been used to improve resistance to high temperature fatigue. This study performs analysis of the vibration behavior of the shell and tube heat exchanger with serpentine tubes. We employ a numerical method by means of CAESAR II package program and modal test for analysis the dynamic characteristic (natural frequency) and vibration behavior of heat exchanger structure. In conclusion, we compared the results of several trials and establish the proper methodology of the dynamic behavior analysis of heat exchanger structure.
