Abstract
Dimensional analysis is an important tool for developing mathematical models of physical phenomena in order to understand the effects of laser shock peening(LSP) process parameters. By using the Bucking Π theorem, we proposed an applicable dimensional analysis method to verify the effects of LSP process parameters on the residual stresses. Furthermore, by using finite element analysis, we proposed a finite element method of LSP and discussed various parameters, such as peak pressure, pressure pulse duration, laser spot size, and multiple LSPs.
