Abstract

Terahertz sensing application with metamaterials has been attractive candidate for various analytes. Biomolecule samples especially have been intensively researched with high sensitivity and selectivity using THz metamaterials. Here, we designed nano-gap based metamaterials for highly enhanced absorption cross section of target bio samples. Nano-slot sensing chip was applied to classify various kinds of cells and measure cell density sensitively. Large sized nano-slot sensing chip was fabricated to improve image contrast of brain tissue as well. The results show an excellent potential of highly sensitive label-free biological sample detection and imaging applications.
