Abstract
Indoor air pollution due to airborne bacteria is widespread health problem associated with allergic symptoms. The investigation of the Total Bacteria Count(TBC) was performed to compare with allergic symptoms by questionnaire for children in daycare centers. This study population consisted of 683 children, aged 4∼6 years, attending daycare centers in Seoul, Korea. The highest average TBC was found that the above group which was higher than mean value in the prevalence of the allergic diseases. But, allergic diseases were not much relation with the concentration of the TBC. The count of the bacteria did not differ between healthy children and those with allergic asthma.
