    Abstract

This paper presents a straightforward design method of a reflectionless bandstop filter. As the conventional normalized lumped-element lowpass design parameters can be used in a filter design, it can be readily carried out without experiencing complicated math calculations. In addition, a transformation from a lumped-element structure to a distributed-element allows us to design a distributed-element reflectionless bandstop filter. For demonstration, a second-order reflectionless Butterworth bandstop filter of microstrip structure has been designed, fabricated, and measured.
