Abstract

Thin film silicon solar cells were fabricated on ZnO nanowires directly grown on fluorine doped SnO (FTO) transparent conductive oxide (TCO) to enhance the light scattering. The grown ZnO nanowires with around 900 nm of length were etched in solution mixed with acetic acid and dionized water for conformal deposition of silicon thin film layer. Growth characteristics and etching effects of ZnO nanowires were investigated. Thin film silicon solar cells with etched ZnO nanowires were investigated the optical, electrical and structural characteristics.
