Tm-mode radiation of dielectric-grating antenna

TM-mode scattering from multiple rectangular grooves in a dielectric-covered ground plane is studied. The Fourier-transform is used to express the scattered field in the spectral domain and the boundary conditions are enforced to obtain simultaneous equations for the transmitted field inside the grooves. The simultaneous equations are solved to obtain a solution in a series form utilizing the residue calculus. Numerical computations are performed to investigate the scattering behavior in terms of the groove geometry and operating frequency. The theoretical angular far-zone radiation pattern is compared with the measured data at IIGHz.
