Abstract

The treatability of ezo spruce and dahurian larch heartwood with CCA-Type B, and the effects of incising upon their treatability were investigated. When unincised, both species did not meet the minimum requirements of penetration and retention specified by the American Wood-Preservers' Association for refractory softwood species for ground contact. With either single or double density incising, both species met retention requirements, but only double density incised spruce reached the required depth of penetration.
