Abstract

The characteristics of diffraction gratings in liquid crystal (LC) cell were discussed. It was found that the LC molecules were effectively reoriented in a hybrid cell and diffraction efficiency was increased to a relatively high value by two-beam coupling. The analysis showed that the diffraction efficiency increased, when the two coupled pump-beams were turned off.
