Upper bounds on the number of equalizer taps for optical square-law detection systems

    Abstract

    We present upper bounds on the number of equalizer taps in optical communication systems using the square-law detection in empirical ways. The bounds are set by equalization efficiency represented by MSE and confirmed by BER.
